The scheduled lecturer for the Lodge of Research No.2429 on Monday 25th March 2019 was unfortunately unable to be present on the evening. Quick thinking within the Lodge, and the fortunate presence of the Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. David Hagger, who was able to grant a dispensation, resulted in the substitution of the address to be given with one from the previous week given to John of Gaunt Lodge No.523 on the lives and achievements of W.Bros. Walter and Allan Bunney.

W.Bros. Aubrey Newman and David Hughes repeated their previous lectures to a large and appreciative gathering of Lodge and Correspondence Circle members, and substantial presence of younger brethren from Leicester’s two Universities Scheme Lodges, Wyggeston Lodge No.3448 and Castle of Leicester Lodge No.7767.

Both speakers were extensively “quizzed” at the buffet following the meeting by brethren, keen to learn more about the Bunney musical dynasty, and also about how to undertake research into Masonic history.
